PARENT INVOLVEMENT

At Riverside we encourage parents to get involved, this can be in many different ways. At the beginning of the year we are in need of volunteers to be Class parents. Class parent organises social gatherings with their class and at times help to organise fundraising events. This is a great way to meet other families. The Riverside Preschool AGM is held in March of each year, parents are asked to join the committee this is a great way to get involved with Riverside.

There are many other ways to help, ongoing maintenance, working bees and every year we need a book club co-ordinator. We love having parents or families visit preschool to share with us an experience or special interest.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

At Riverside we are fortunate to have the Henley Green Community Garden in our backyard, this project is organised by the Happy Hens and is an integral part of our centre.  The children enjoy regular outings to the garden to feed the chickens, Rosie, Daisy, Snowy and Chook. We often take the time to wander through the garden and involved in watering and planting. It is a highlight of our day! happyhens.org.au

We love having visits from the local Community,

The Riverside Street Library sounds like a magical portal to adventure, doesn't it? Imagine the scene: a group of intrepid young explorers, led by their fearless Riverside staff, trekking the treacherous ten-foot journey up the driveway. With each step, the anticipation builds until they reach the summit and the treasure trove of stories that await within the vibrantly painted library. It's a place where dragons roam, spaceships zoom, and the only limit is the imagination. And let's not forget the artists behind this masterpiece, the children and staff whose brushes have turned a simple box into a beacon of creativity. It's not just a library; it's a landmark of literary love, a testament to the power of community and a reminder that sometimes, the best adventures are just outside your front door.

So, if you're in the neighborhood and in need of a good tale, follow the laughter and the tiny footprints—they'll lead you right to the Riverside Street Library, the smallest yet mightiest library of them all.
